When She Pulled On Her Blue Jeans
She pulled on her favorite jeans, her Lucky Brand jeans and pulled a plain white tee shirt over her head; straightened herself up threw her head back shaking her hair and looked in the mirror. She smiled, her reflection pleased her. She was by no means a young chick but she still didn't look so bad (she was definitely not mutton dressed as lamb). Her eyes were shinning with vitality - she was rarin' to go and felt every bit as much the 'rocker' that she thought she was twenty years ago. She was never really a rocker in the fullest sense of the word but she was a girl that loved to party
She slipped on her drop earrings the ones she loved. They were a bit hippy looking but they went so well with the casualness of the outfit. The small sapphires set the ensemble off. Giving her, she imagined a little extra pzazz. Sprayed a little perfume into the room and walked into the mist. She was almost all set and it was all so simple. She loved her little blue jeans. They went with just about anything and when she pulled on these particular pair of jeans, her (lucky you) jeans....she felt unstoppable.
Her ex partner had bought the jeans, the earrings and a handbag for her for Christmas a few years ago. They had all worn well, better than the relationship which had eventually fizzled into nothing but a vague negative memory for the most part... for her. She loved the jeans though, they had worn well and they still looked good and they were so comfortable. Sometimes she felt it was a shame that these were the only positive things remaining from that time in her life. Other times, most of the times, she'd shrug and think 'such is life'.
She ran down the stairs slipped into her shoes, grabbed her coat and her handbag and fiddled about doing one last check to make sure she had everything she needed. She was heading out to the 70's disco (Always an easy decade to dress for). She felt a little buzz of exhilaration and excitement run through her as she closed the door and went to meet up with her friends. She was looking forward to the night out, not because she expected anything special or extraordinary to happen to her. She was just a woman who loved to party.
