Dydd Gwyl Dewi hapus! (Happy St David's Day

Happy Saint David's Day to any Welsh Readers. St David spread Christianity throughout the Celtic tribes in the 6th century. He was known as David the water drinker, being tee total. A strong temperance movement developed in the 19th century that put paid (more or less) to their whiskey industry; apparently though, a new single malt is being launched today by Penderyn Whiskey. The first whiskey to be distilled in Wales for over 100 years.

 

I should probably know a little more about this Saint and have something interesting to say about the leek the Welsh national emblem, but tonight i feel tired and really just want to wish the Welsh
