The Post Office - Failing To Deliver Or Second For None.

It looks like everyone round my way has been trying to save money by posting their Christmas cards second class. Because when I visited the Post Office yesterday afternoon I was greeted by a large sign saying ‘No 2nd Class stamps’. Then in much smaller writing ‘Due to unforeseen circumstances. We offer our apologies’. Could this be a sneaky way to increase their profits , by asking people to pay an additional 10 pence per item for an already 2nd class postal service. Gone are the days when your mail was waiting in the hall when you came down to breakfast. Usually I arrive home to find a pile of junk mail on the mat and a utility bill buried somewhere in between them. Like most I usually communicate by text or email as it is inexpensive and quick. So the Post Office may see people buying stamps at a busy posting period as an ‘unforeseen circumstance’. It shows bad business planning and no wonder people are seeking other avenues to get their messages through. So if you haven’t received my card by now, it is in the post, honestly.
